SO SO SO excited this morning. (see late last night’s post about God giving me HOME hope!)

The cardiologist came in this morning and I made a sarcastic note that we might be celebrating her 3rd birthday here because she refuses to stay off oxygen for any long period of time!

She said, yeah, she was rethinking her original plan.

Because it’s quite evident that Annabelle has at least a mild form of chronic lung disease, we may be stressing her too much by trying to wean her from it too soon. So, they are considering letting her go home on oxygen!

Now, I really don’t WANT to go home on oxygen. It’s a pain in the butt. But we are “house bound” for the most part anyway for the next month or two except for clinic visits, so it’s not like we’re going to be carting oxygen around walmart or the mall or anything.

Just talked to pulmonologists (aka lung doctors) and they are going to try a few things to help over the weekend, but are okay with her going home on oxygen too.

SO!

OH MY GOODNESS. I’m excited.

I just talked to my hubby and told him our planned “go home date.” Now, yesterday’s post I noted that God had really confirmed to me (like at 12:30 in the morning…) we are going home SOON, and even though she had gone back on oxygen, I was filled with hope.

Evidently last night, my daughters had been discussing Annabelle’s homecoming. Someone suggested maybe Monday, but Lacy was adament that it was going to be Tuesday (mostly because it is a half-day of school so they would be able to be home when Annabelle got there…) They even wrote it on our marker calendar board at home last night!

Guess when the doctor told us our go home day might be this morning?

TUESDAY!!!

How cool is that? God is SO SO SO amazing!

So we are planning on Tuesday. EEEEEEEEEeeeeEEEE!

I’m just a little excited! Okay a LOT excited!

  4. Oh wow wow wow! Praise God!!! You know, we took Bodie home on O2 after his Norwood. It was different because he was only 2 months old so not mobile and Annabelle is much older – but it actually wasn't as bad as I expected. You'll be surprised how quickly you get used to it. 🙂

  5. Awesome news!!! Going home on oxygen really isn't horrible. Especially if they just give you the concentrator box for at home. It changes room air to the oxygen she will need so it never runs out. the travel tanks aren't so bad but can be a pain in the butt if you let yourself get down to the last one…lol, oops i'm guilty of that a time or two! Simon was on oxygen his whole first 10 1/2 months of life and still occasionally needs it. You get used to it and its a small price when it means Annabelle will finally get to go home to her family!!! 🙂 Praise the Lord!!!

  6. Amy… yeah, we were going to go home on oxygen in December when we were set to go home Christmas Eve (she ran a fever so it never happened) but since she has a "whole" heart now, they have said all along that there should be no medical reason for her to need oxygen, so they weren't willing to let her go home on it.

But now they are succumming to the reality that Annabelle likes to follow no ones "normal." I think we can handle it for a little while, and really if we do go home on it, I don't think it will be for very long.

  7. Wow!!! See, only God can write a novel like this. Talk about twists and turns! 🙂

  8. So, so, so happy for you!!! The faith of little children is amazing!

  9. Absolutely excited for you! Yay Annabelle! We will continue to pray and will rejoice with you on that day! Hugs :o)

  13. How awesome is that?! I'm SO excited for you guys! It's about time Annabelle went home! At least if she goes home with oxygen, you don't have to worry about the possibility of her having to go back to the hospital to get it. Praise God!

  24. That is so exciting. The oxygen isn't that bad. I had triplets and they all came home on oxygen and apena monitors. Course I am sure your daughter has alot more meds then we did. We used portable tanks when we went out and then they had a bigger one when at home but it was in a cart. The hardest thing was trying to keep them untangled. With everything you have been through I am sure you guys will do great with the oxygen.

  25. CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!! Really excited for y'all!!!
