Here is my fun informative writer’s questionaire, in response to Kaye’s blog (go visit after you read my rambling below… LOL)
What’s the last thing you wrote? A dissertation of my layers of book 2 to Colleen for the ACFW Course loop. (my book wise… I’ve been editing, so lots of edits to LOL)
What’s the first thing you ever wrote that you still have? My “How I die” story from English class 8th grade. We were supposed to write a paper describing ourselves, and I thought I would be different and write a fictional short story. I was dead. My husband was telling my children about their late mother. I died of a brain aneurysm. I still get scared every time I get a headache!!
Favorite genre of writing? Romantic Comedy, or anything Romantic without smut!
Most fun character you ever wrote? Paige. She is hilarious!
Most annoying character you ever wrote? Richard, the jerk.
Best plot you ever wrote? I haven’t written that many… I personally like LOL. I’m not biased or anything though!
Coolest plot twist you ever wrote? Uh, yeah, Jenny and Paige getting arrested in Nashville.
SHOOT! If you read this, pretend you didn’t read that. It is funny. You have to read the book!
How often do you get writer’s block? Every time I sit down to edit!
How do you fix it? I kick myself in the butt (not an easy task) and I do it anyway.
Write fan fiction? I’m not really sure what fan fiction is. I guess I still have a few things to learn…
Do you type or write by hand? I type. I only write by hand my ideas if I am where I don’t have a computer. I keep a notebook for that.
Do you save everything you write? Usually.
Do you ever go back to an old idea long after you abandoned it? I have one old idea that I know God still wants me to write. I just have to be a little wiser before I can go back to it.
What’s your favorite thing that you’ve written? Didn’t they already ask this??? I think LOL by far… actually, my cousin and I wrote a very stupid stupid story about my other cousin, that was by far the FUNNIEST thing I have written. I hope we don’t still have a copy. I would have to destroy it if we did. LOL
What’s one genre you have never written, and probably never will? Anything literary, or probably historical. I like reading historical, just not sure how well I would be at writing it. Thriller would be another.
How many writing projects are you working on right now? One is set aside for like years later, One I am editing, and One I am writing.
What are your five favorite words? Flippin, Dad-gum-it, instrumental, fratilick, and….. Supercalafragalisticexbealadocious (have NO idea if I spelled that right and really don’t care…)
What character that you’ve written most resembles you? Probably Jenny. I put a good bit of myself into her, but not all of it. She is a combination of a lot of people, but I think since it was my first book, I did put more of myself into her than I normally will.
Do you ever write based on your dreams? Mostly I write out of my fears. I’m working on that! And yes, out of my dreams too.
Are you concerned with spelling and grammar as you write? I am, but not as much as most. When I am a zone, I just type and purposely don’t go back. It gets in the way and interrupts my flow. I usually try to go back at the end of the chapter and do a minimal grammar/spelling check to get the worst stuff. Everything else is saved for the editing phase.
Does music help you write? Yep! I don’t listen a lot as I write, but it is inspirational! It also helps me to calm down when I need a break, and to get pumped up when I need energized.
How do people react when they find out you write? Depends who it is. I get a lot of “Really?” ‘s. And a lot of “WOW!” ‘s. “That’s cool.” Or “Oh”. The last one is my favorite. It shows that I’ve confused them! LOL
Quote something you’ve written. The first thing to pop into your mind.
“Dad gum stupid frog!”
Seriously, it’s probably my favorite line in my whole book.
Fun post, Krista! Can’t wait to meet you at conference. 🙂
I think it’s my favorite line in the first two chapters but there are some gooduns! I’m waiting on more! You are very talented, Krista!
I never would have guessed that “dad gum” was one of your favorite things to say. 🙂
I love it! Can’t wait to read some of your stuff 🙂
Dad gum stupid frog? Okay, you’ve got me curious!
Flippin is in my daughter’s top 5 list too.
