Find your lost phone!
Kay, so stupid me, Saturday morning, got home from garage saleing (probably the last Saturday of the season!) to find that my phone was nowhere in sight. I searched high and low, but to no avail. A sinking feeling started in my belly. What if I left it on some table at some house while sifting through their junk?
And… we turned off our landline months ago because we never use it, so I couldn’t try to call it.
AND my phone was on it’s last bar, so if I didn’t find it in the next few hours, all hope was lost, because no one would hear it ring.
In my despair, I lamented my frustration on twitter.
Moments later, I had a DM tweet from Lynnette, offering to call me. My first thought was, um, no. I have a little too much pride for that.
Then I realized, hang pride, I’d just announced my stupidity to all of twitter- and facebook-ospheres. And… I’d been praying for God to help me find it. Maybe he chose to use twitter?
So I DMed my number to Lynnette, sent my daughter out to the car to listen while I listened in the house.
Two minutes later, Karalynn runs inside. “I FOUND IT! I FOUND IT! And someone from, um, Washington? tried to call”
It had fallen inside a bag that I’d looked UNDER but not in.
I’d just like to take this moment to say… THANK YOU… to Lynnette, for helping this poor twit out! You’re a lifesaver!
*side note* Just thinking about how funny it would have been if I HAD left it at a garage sale, and someone from there had answered it, and Lynnette would have been like, “Um, yeah, this lady on Twitter said she lost her phone, so I offered to call it for her. Can I have your address so she can come and get it?”
That would have been TOTALLY classic.
Thankfully, it didn’t come to that.

Yeah, I think God answers stuff all the time in the coolest ways. I need to start writing them down because right now I'm drawing a blank. Oh, when I was in fourth grade I walked to the library and got lost on the way home. I was in a strange town visiting a relative. I wasn't a Christian but I prayed to God and said I'd talk to him more (or something) if He'd get me home. Well, I passed a house with a McGruff symbol on it, decided God let me see it, and went up to the house. The lady called my aunt and I got home safe. I still remember that because I'm positive God did that for me, put someone obviously SAFE right in my path. 🙂
That's hilarious, Krista! Now I can tell all the twitter naysayers what a lifesaver it was to my dear friend who lost her phone! See, we just knew Twitter was a good thing! And it just keeps getting better! 🙂
That's such a great story! I wrote two blog posts about Twitter tips last week but, quite frankly, I doubt I would've thought to Tweet about it had I lost my phone. LOL! Hugs, Linda

Everything God has ever orchestrated in my life has been classic, really. How I met my husband, the birth of our second child, my discovery of writing, EVERYTHING. I just cannot thank Him enough for always taking care of me.

God has provided for me in various "strange" ways. I realize they must be strange to me but not to Him though. I'm so glad you found your phone!
Ha! So glad I could help you! 🙂 Here was my thought process when I saw your tweet. "I would call her, but if I offer to do that she's going to think I just want her number or something…. She doesn't even know me…. But it really would be a nice thing to do…. All she can do is say no…. I really should offer…. Hope she doesn't think I'm stalking her!"

Here's my hubbys lost cell phone story. Our son was about 8 at the time and had climbed WAY up in a tree. He looked down and promptly got scared and froze. Hubby had to climb the tree to help him down. 🙂 Okay, so hubby had a phone holder that clipped onto his belt. Later, he can't find his phone. We looked EVERYWHERE, called it numerous times (he keeps it on vibrate – not much help with a lost phone), looked some more. Finally he said, "I remember having it right before I helped Ty climb out of the tree." So in the dark he goes out to the tree and calls his phone. He looks up and there is the blue glow of his phone! His phone holder had come unclipped from his belt and was CLIPPED to a tree branch! Now what are the odds of that happening? Couldn't it have just fallen to the ground where we would have seen it in our numerous searches? Crazy, huh?

That is so cool. Just think how technology does work for us. Man, I guess we shouldn't complain about it, eh?

So glad you found your phone!! Yeah, God does provide in some unique and sometimes miraculous ways. Like the time my husband started a business and we had no income for 6 months and out of the blue a company in GA offered to buy his company!! Very out of the ordinary! And oh so God-like!!
