Book Review: My Little Girl by Tim McGraw and Tom Douglas

I loved this book! The story was just precious and a fun read with my daughter. It’s about a daddy-daughter date, which I’m a FIRM believer in. If anything, every DAD should read this and see just how much your little girl needs time with you and how precious it can be! The illustrations are wonderful, the colors bright and vibrant, and my daughter says her favorite part is at the end when the daddy was tucking his daughter into bed. That, and the part about the bunnies!

My only comment on the story is that it was a little segmented. I think for little kids, and heck, us adults too, we need transition. “After lunch, they…” vs. just skipping to the middle of the next activity. I think both my daughter and myself were confused when we turned the page and were smack dab in the middle of a different scene.

It’s DEFINITELY not a deal breaker, and I would still buy it because, again, the message is great and my daughter still asks for me to reread it.

And to you daddy’s out there, good grief go and have a date with your daughter! They need it, and so do you!

****blog discussion****

Now I can’t just post a review and not get a little discussion out of it *grin*. So, if you have kiddos at home, do you have one-on-one time with them by going on a special ‘date’? Or, if you don’t have kids, any special memories of ‘dates’ with you parents when you were little?

Or if you think the whole concept is a little too weird, you can let me know that too! *grin*
