Annabelle Update!

Ohhh, I have GOOD NEWS!

First, Annabelle is doing GREAT!

We saw her last night and got a WONDERFUL surprise. We were told that it was a big probability that they would leave her chest cavity open after surgery to give room for swelling, and that it is about 4 days before they close it. (they do cover it with some gauze…) but when we finally got back to see her, we found that it was CLOSED! The nurse says this is a VERY VERY good thing, and means we get skip that part. WOOHOO!!!

I talked to the surgeons nurse, and she said Annabelle came through the surgery about as good as anyone could, that it didn’t take very long and since all her stats were spot on, they were able to close her up. EEEE!!! How COOL is that!

She made it through the night wonderfully with great stats, just little minor things along the way.

This morning, we started to see her wiggle her arms and legs and move her head a little, which made us feel REALLY good since she hadn’t moved since her almost-surgery on Friday.

AND!!! For our HUGE excitement for the day!

She opened her eyes this afternoon!!! The nurse had said she’d seen her peek a few times but Scott and I hadn’t seen it, and I got up once to be with her and low and behold, she was looking at me! Oh my, you have NO idea how good that felt!
