Annabelle is doing GREAT today. Besides her day after surgery (before her bad night) this is the best day she’s had!
Her blood pressure (besides a wee little issue this morning) has been wonderful all day! For the last few day’s, they’d had to keep giving her fluid to keep it from getting too low.
Yesterday and last night we had quite a bit of trouble keeping her sedated … she kept waking up and crying (silently because of the breathing tube in her) and it was just awful to see. She’d look at me with her eyes and I could just see her thinking, “Mom, what in the WORLD is going ON here!?!”
But today, she’s been quiet and good all day, opened her eyes just a little bit but not in duress.
AND they put her feeding tube in her nose today and started to give her a little of my milk (making my every 2 hour effort actually WORTH something, WOOHOO!) Personally, I think this is going to help too. The poor little love hasn’t eaten in all of her almost 2 weeks of life!
AND… I know, there’s more? We are praying that they close her up tomorrow! If she does as well tonight as she has all day today, there is a really good chance.
I, personally, feel better today. Things are looking really positive again, and we’re back on track like we were before her incident. Part of me doesn’t want to hope too much, given our setback last week, but I know our God is a God of HOPE and nothing happens without his knowledge. I’m trusting Him with my little Annabelle. It’s a daily task of mine, giving my little girl over to Him, because I keep wanting to take her back and worry. But alas, she is His more than she is mine, as it should be!
YAY!!! Wonderful to hear! I gave an Annabelle update at prayer time at our church this morning. Our folks are following her progress. 🙂
