You may or may not have noticed, but I’ve been quiet on my blog the last few weeks. Between the stomach bug hitting my whole family (except my eldest daughter) straight in the gut over the course of a week or two, coupled with all the Christmas festivities and trying to be more present with my family during this time, I felt that blogging was pretty much last on the totem pole of priorities! I’m pretty sure you all understand!

THAT SAID!

I did want to let you in on something FUN happening this week!

In honor of the Christmas season, I’m giving away my Christmas novella, A (kinda) Country Christmas, for FREE right now on Kindle through tomorrow!!

AND #2 in that series, A (sorta) Southern Serenade, is on sale through Friday for only 99 cents!

I’d LOVE for you to check them out as my gift for you!

And of course, remember that The Engagement Plot is my newest novel and available online and in most Christian bookstores and Barnes and Nobles! Books make GREAT gifts, and if you use the Contact Me feature on my website, you can request a bookplate (a little sticker I mail to you to make it an “autographed” book!)

Lastly, thought I’d share a few fun photos of OUR Christmas preparations!

First, let me just tell you about this amazing conversation I overheard between my two youngest children. They were taking turns telling what their FAVORITE things about Christmas was.

The list was a little like this:

1.) Jesus’ Birthday.

2.) Reading the Christmas story on Christmas morning.

3.) Putting up the Christmas Tree

4.) Going to look at Christmas lights.

5.) Giving people presents.

Can I just say how humbled I was that GETTING presents (while they get plenty…) was not even mentioned on their list??? Such a reminder to me considering I stress WAY too much over giving them all just the right gifts and trying to stay on budget!!!

Anyway, here are a few fun pictures from Christmas-time with our family!

My Christmas Bears! I got my first bear in 1994… and have gotten at least 1 bear a year since! (well, I’m missing 1996… My mom thought it was a bear but it was a Christmas MOUSE and I lost it somewhere along the line…) So yeah, these are the YES TOUCH decorations in our house! I LOVE my bears!!!!
My handsome hubby and I rocking our Santa-wear!
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in our house!
Every year, our church puts on a “Santa’s Special Visit” for kids with special needs. Since we are always trying to limit germs as much as possible for Annabelle due to her heart, and Annabelle has some developmental issues that make her not be able to handle big crowds well or long lines, we have taken her every year for the last 4 years. It has been SUCH a blessing, and she LOVES LOVES LOVES her some Santa!!!!
This year all the girls got in for a picture! Oh how I love my family!!!!!

Don’t you just LOVE Christmas?

What is YOUR favorite Christmas tradition?

And if I don’t get a chance to blog again before Christmas, I just want to wish you ALL a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

  1. My favorite tradition is walking through our neighborhood on Christmas Eve and looking at all of the Christmas lights. Thanks for the free Christmas novella! The Engagement Plot is sitting on my shelf waiting to be read. 🙂 Merry Christmas!

  2. Instead of having Santa visit us, we started the tradition of 12 Days of Christmas instead when our children were little. It taught them patience, and that the largest box didn’t always contain the best present. It took a couple of years to get the formula right, but our youngest daughter, now 23, still wants to do Christmas over the 12 day period even though she no longer lives at home. I don’t think our children missed Santa at all.

  3. Just finished The Engagement Plot. Hated to see it end and didn’t want to put it down. Loved it from start to finish. Also your words at the end touched my heart. Thank you and God’s favor over you.
