It’s a GREAT week!
And it really is! As I think I made a little too clear, I had a pretty crappy week last week. My busy week at work was made horrendous by a big whoops by a vendor we use that, well, was just unacceptable and caused my phone to ring almost completely from Monday morning to Friday afternoon. not to mention the hoards of emails…
But, we persevered and I think the worst is behind us.
And I had a GREAT weekend, very relaxing and rejuvenating, which God in his perfect wisdom knew I needed.
I got my judges comments back from the Zondervan contest, which were very encouraging and I’m SO excited to get back to my book to make their suggested changes. I can’t tell you how helpful it was to hear from an actual publishing company about what I could do to make my book better on a high level (most critiques you get from peers have a lot of specific changes, wording issues etc, but this high level is really what I needed)
BUT, I’m still temporarily on my writing break. Every time I went to write this weekend, I just felt God whisper in my ear “wait”.
So, I’m waiting. Not very patiently, but I’m trying to be obedient.
Enough of my rants. On to MUSIC MONDAY!!
I struggle each week as to what songs to post, there are SO many good ones.
In light of Thanksgiving on Thursday, I decided to post one that highlights what I am most thankful for. Of course, I’m thankful for tons of stuff, like my family, my friends, my job (I have one when so many others don’t right now), my health, the list goes on and on.
But, beyond a shadow of a doubt, what I am most thankful for is the Cross, and what my Jesus did for me on that cross. Enjoy!
That’s great that the Zondervan people actually give comments — it’s worth it to enter just for that! Good luck with your ms
This is one of my favorite songs. When I hear it I’m often brought to tears remembering what Jesus did for me at the cross. Happy tears, mind you.
Glad to hear you got the comments back from your contest. I’ve only entered a couple, got comments on one, and the second I finaled, so we’ll find out in January ’09 what will happen with that….I think I get comments after the final judging?
I’m so new to the contest circut, but find it scary and exciting at the same time!!!!
God bless you, Krista. Hope you have a great three day work week
Congrats on obeying God’s voice! That’s lots easier said than done!
And one day you’ll be able to look back and understand why He said “wait,” and you’ll be glad you did.
Keep up the good work!
Amy, it WAS worth it just for the comments! Usually just a submission to an editor, you’re lucky to get a little tid bit of advice with a rejection, but to get three editors comments and suggestions was a huge blessing!
Lynn, glad you liked the songs! Good luck on your contest! This is the first I’ve ever entered, so it was just a fun experience.
Avily, obeying is SO not easy! I keep reminding God about how much I want to write and he keeps showing me the list of other stuff that needs to be done BEFORE I get back to it. It’s long! Ack!
