It’s DOUBLE baby day today! I’m so VERY excited.

No … not Baby Annabelle. I wish! (okay, no, I don’t, she still needs a few more weeks of growing!)

However, two VERY important people in my life are having their baby’s today and I am SO SO SO excited for them.

First, my sister-in-law is having her first baby. She’s a little girl too, Lyla Emery Johnson, and they are inducing labor this morning. (I guess if she wanted to be VERY stubborn it could be tomorrow, but usually when they induce it goes a bit quicker!) So excited for Nick and Christine … please keep them in your prayers today!!

Second, my uber good friend that comments here regularly, Valerie, is going to have a scheduled C-section. Actually, they had it scheduled for next week (thursday I believe) however poor Valerie has an awful time with pregnancy. She has hyperemesis gravidarum, and has had it for all three of her pregnancies. If you don’t know what that is, it’s when you are sick far beyond normal morning sickness. It’s so sick that you end up losing 20 or 30 pounds instead of gaining it. You have to go to the hospital many times throughout your pregnancy to get fluids because you throw up the ones you drink/eat. Valerie has been confined mostly to her bed the last few weeks because she was so weak due to malnutrition, so they FINALLY agreed to go ahead and take baby tomorrow so she doesn’t literally starve to death from puking. (Nice Friday topic … I know!)

SO anyway, she is having baby #3, Simon Joseph Lewis, and I am SO very excited for her too!

And do you know? Tomorrow it will be exactly 2 weeks until my last day of scheduled work (obviously Annabelle could have a mind of her own…)

I have SO very much to do to still get ready! My sis and I are having a garage sale tomorrow and Saturday to get rid of junk, and EVERY SINGLE ITEM that is left over is going to Good Will. I am NOT going to take ANYTHING home, dad gum it! With making room for Annabelle, there is physically no more space!

Thankfully, we finally have her room mostly ready. There are a still a few things I need to get, but I’m on the home stretch. I DO need to pack a bag for the hospital, both for me and Annabelle. Once I get that done, I can relax.

I know what you are thinking. I’m rambling on about a bunch of meaningless stuff.

Well, I’ll have you know that I’m 8 1/2 months pregnant and well, sometimes I just ramble because my head is too full and it just comes out as a bunch of mess. This would be why I’m not trying to get any writing done lately. In fact, I’ve done very little these last few months. I found that I was typing stupid errors, or I’d go back and read what I wrote, and little of it would make sense.

Yes, Prego Krista and writing do not mix.

I did however, have a half-way sane moment the other day and wrote my blog post for The Writer’s Alleys, so if you want something coherent from me, go over there. I’m actually really excited about this post. We’ve been talking all week about rules, and I wrapped up by taking 5 yet mentioned rules and giving a little blurb on each of them. “Was”, use of italics, !!!!!!, R.U.E., and dialogue tags.

Because right now folks (it’s WAY too late Thursday night) this very large woman is taking herself to bed.

Good night! (Er, sorry, you’re reading this tomorrow… GOOD MORNING!)

  1. Good morning! I love babies and am always excited when they are born and I can go love on them. Too bad you live so far from me…I am a GREAT babysitter!

I'll be praying for you during the garage sale. I hate those with a passion. I hate pricing. I hate haggling. I just hate it all. 🙁

But I hope you make some money!!!!

  2. Yay for new babies, yay for clearing clutter, yay for almost ready for Annabelle!

  3. I just love babies too, Sherrinda!

Get plenty of rest Krista, I think you have earned the right to ramble a little bit. 🙂

  4. Hi Krista –

Congrats to all the mommies and daddies!

If I was close by, I'd come to your yard sale. I love going to them, but don't enjoy the work of producing one. Don't forget a hat and lots of water.

    Blessings,
    Susan 🙂

  5. Oh, yes, I totally remember what pregnancy brain is like. But thankfully, it goes back to normal after labor. Or, kind of normal, right? Take care!

  6. Fun!
I got to hold my best friend's first grandbaby this weekend!!!
